Righteousness

Romans 3:20-24 ……… But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Dictionary.com defines righteousness as: morally upright; without guilt or sin. There is only one way that we can become righteous and that is through Christ Jesus our Lord. Only He can take away our guilt, only He can take away our sin. There is no other way to get right with God other than to be clothed in the righteousness of Jesus. Only He is righteous before God and if we believe in Him and our lives are hidden in Christ with God, His righteousness becomes our righteousness. Then we can stand upright before the throne of God and be acceptable to Him because of what Jesus has done for us. Hallelujah.
We have nothing to bring to Almighty God that can make us right with Him, our righteousness is as filthy rags before him; our self-righteousness is an abomination to Him, a stench in His nostrils.
Only when we are fully dead to ourselves can we become alive in Christ only then can our lives be hidden in Christ and only then do we have a right to come before God our Father because, if we have died and our lives are hidden in Christ and we have put on His robes of righteousness, our Father in heaven will not see us but He will see Jesus.
The righteousness of Jesus Christ has made the way for all of us to get right with God and there is no other way.
With unveiled faces we can reflect the glory of God, just as God sees His Son in us the world will also so His glory in us. If we stay hidden in Christ, our lives will reveal Jesus. If we remain in Him others will see Jesus when they look at us. When they see Christ then they will have the revelation of their own unrighteousness and they will cry out to Jesus to get their lives right with God.
This is our witness, not a gospel of wise or persuasive words but a gospel of righteousness that shines out of us for the glory of God. The finished work of Calvary where Jesus was crucified for all mankind, where His precious blood was poured out to wash away our sins, where He took away our guilt and shame, has become our life and our salvation. Jesus has become our righteousness.
Thank you Jesus, you have made us right with God. Amen
