Delivered From Fear

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? Psalm 56:3-4
When King David was going through the toughest period of his life, he made a decision to put his trust in God. He made a decision to praise His Word. Are you able to be like David and honestly say you will praise the Lord, especially when you are fearful and going through the toughest time of your life?
Why is King David able to say that with such confidence and boldness? It was because of His relationship with God. He had experienced and encountered God for himself. He knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that God would deliver him from every fearful situation. Do you struggle with fear in your life that takes away your peace? How can you be delivered from fear? Do what David did: Seek the Lord, pray to Him and ask Him to deliver you from all your fears (Ps. 34:4)! The best thing to do when you do not know what else to do is to pray. Jesus gave us a great promise that if we ask the Father in His name, He will answer our prayers (John 16:23-24)!
Sometimes God allows us to go through a very difficult period in our life to let us know that He is our Provider, our Deliverer, our very present help in times of need. Jesus is known as the Prince of Peace (Is. 9:6). That means He is the Captain, the Chief, the Ruler, the Master and the Lord of peace. “Peace” in Hebrew is shalom. It means safety, well-being, welfare, health and prosperity. Therefore, Jesus is the Lord of our safety, well-being, welfare, health and prosperity!
We often look at peace to mean an absence of conflict or war. No! Biblical peace involves our entire well-being as a person! Biblical peace is not passive, it is active and it can be imparted to us! Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). As the people of God, we can enjoy peace from God that the world cannot give! When we go through difficulties, trials and pressure in life, we are better off than the people in the world because we have peace, prosperity and blessing from God!
Jesus wants us to know Him as our personal Prince of Peace. But that can only come by a revelation through relationship! When you know God and have a walk with Him like David had, you will be confident and bold that the Prince of Peace is watching over you. Then, you will be able to praise Him at all times. Your mouth will not speak words of fear, doubt or unbelief, but will only be fi lled with the praises of God.
