I have called you friends

"...I have called you friends, for everything that I have learned from my Father I have made known to you." John 15:15

Jesus Christ said, "I am the vine and you are the branches.". What did He mean by that? A vine, or a living plant like a tree, is alive. The vine or the tree is the source of life to the branches of the vine.

In the same way, Jesus is our source of life. He is the only true source of lasting spiritual life. When you have Jesus Christ in your heart and life as your Savior and Lord, He can give you life, and joy, and peace, and eternal life. In Jesus Christ is true and lasting happiness.

Jesus said He would not leave us or forsake us. He even called His disciples His friends. Jesus loves you and by the power of the Holy Spirit He said He will be with us always, even to the end of the world. Jesus loves you!

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Help us trust more and more in Jesus our Lord and Savior
• Protect our fellow Christians at Global Media Outreach and around the world
• Help someone you love come to know Jesus

There is no one like Jesus Christ

“He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy.” Colossians 1:15 18

There is no one like Jesus Christ. No one who has ever lived is like Jesus. There have been many prophets; but Jesus is more than just a prophet. There are many teachers; but Jesus Christ is more than just a teacher.

Jesus Christ is the most holy and perfect being who has ever walked on this earth — because He is totally holy. Jesus alone is the only begotten Son of God. Jesus is God Himself. Jesus gave His life for our sins.

Jesus died and was buried and on the third day rose again. There are many godly teachers who have died, and they are buried in the earth. Jesus rose from the dead and rose into heaven, where He is with God His Father.

And what is wonderful, this Jesus Christ — the Son of God and the Son of Man — loves you and gave His life to be your Savior! When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He promises that He will never leave you and He will be with you always.

So, this week, let us pray that God will

• Help us live righteous lives for Him this year
• Lead and guide our staff and volunteers at Global Media Outreach
• Help you tell others about Jesus and His great love

King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

"...If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all - how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?" Romans 8:31 - 34

Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords! As we start this new year, let us remember that we serve the one true living God and His Son Jesus Christ who is Himself God.

If God is for us, who can be against us? I know that our troubles - and your troubles - can seem enormous to each of us. But God is greater than our troubles. God knows the plans He has for us, and they are plans for good and not for harm, plans to give us a future and a hope.

As you look to this new year, ask God to give you His faith and His hope and His love. Faith in God - hope for the future - and love for God and for those around you. Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit and His joy, and you can have victory over discouragement and sin and even death. Jesus Christ is Lord! No power is greater than God. You can have great victory in your life in Jesus Christ in 2011.

So, this week and this year, let us pray and ask God to

• Fill each of us with His faith and His joy and His hope and His love
• Save millions of people all around the world
• Help us all at Global Media Outreach to reach the world for Jesus Christ and to be safe in His love

The Wise Men

"On coming to the house, they (the wise men) saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh." Matthew 2:11

Wise men still seek Jesus. Over 2,000 years ago, after Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, wise men from the East came to look for Jesus. They were seeking the One who had been born the King of the Jews.

When they found Him in Bethlehem, they worshipped Him and gave the baby Jesus gifts of gold, and incense, and valuable spices. They knew that they had found the King.

Even today, wise people from all over the world are looking for truth...for a savior...for the meaning of life. Come to Jesus! He alone is the King of Kings...the ruler of all nations...the Savior who died for our sins and rose on the third day. We can all come to Jesus and love Him and honor Him and worship Him today!

So, this week, let us pray and

• Thank Jesus for coming to this earth to be our Savior!
• Ask God to help us live lives pleasing to Him this coming year
• Ask God to fill us all, and our staff and volunteers at Global Media Outreach, with His peace and joy

How is Jesus our Savior?

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” John 3:17

Jesus was born to be our Savior! “For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

How is Jesus our Savior? Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Israel over 2,000 years ago. He was the Son of God and of the Virgin Mary — so He was both the Son of God and the Son of Man. As the Son of God, He was perfect and sinless. He came to this earth to save us from our sins.

The very name Jesus means “God is salvation”. God knew that we could not save ourselves from our sins. We are too stubborn, and too proud, and too selfish — and we deserve the judgment of God. But God sent His Son Jesus to born to a poor family; to live a sinless life; and then to suffer and die in our place. The Apostle John, one of Jesus’ followers, wrote “And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.”

Is Jesus your Savior today? Just like any gift, you must receive it for it to be yours. If you have prayed and truly asked forgiveness of your sins and for Jesus Christ to be your Savior, then Jesus Christ is your Savior today. Jesus saves us from hell, and sin, and the punishment for our sins and gives us hope for the future and the gift of eternal life. Let us praise Him together!

So, this week, let us pray and

• Thank God for sending His Son Jesus Christ to be our Savior!
• Ask God to help us reach the whole world with the message of His great love
• Ask God to protect and bless your family and also our staff at Global Media Outreach

MERRY CHRISTMAS! The angels sang and told the world the wonderful news that Jesus was born. He came to earth to be our Savior! This is the most wonderful news in the world.

Jesus Christ is born!

"And the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'" Luke 2:10, 11

Jesus Christ is born! This joyous message was given by angels 2,000 years ago in the little town of Bethlehem in Israel.

Who is Jesus Christ? He is the Son of God; the Savior of the world; the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. But 2,000 years ago, He was born as a little baby. God was His Father; the Virgin Mary was His mother. It had been foretold hundreds of years before that the Messiah, the Savior, was to be born in the town of Bethlehem. "And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, are by no means least among the leaders of Judah; for out of you shall come forth a ruler, who will shepherd My people Israel."

What the prophets foretold came true. For Jesus Christ came to earth to be our Savior. He could have come as a rich and powerful ruler, leading the armies of heaven. But He came as a little baby, humble and small. He was born to a poor family. He was not born in a palace, but was born in a stable. But from that stable was to come the most wonderful, and powerful, and loving, and wise person the world has ever known -- the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Let us come and worship Him together!

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Give us a heart of love for others this Christmas time
• Help our volunteers and staff at Global Media Outreach to be always filled with His Holy Spirit and love and covered with His protection
• Save someone that we love this Christmas time

God is with us

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear...” 1 John 4:18

God is with us; therefore we do not need to fear. “God is with us, a very present help in times of trouble.”

Are you going through troubles? Are you afraid? God does not promise us a trouble-free life. In this life here on earth, problems may come. But God does promise us that, if we have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, He will be with us always. His presence will be there to lead us and to guide us. The Holy Spirit lives within us.

“God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” You can ask God to give you courage in the face of fear. Do not focus on the problems of life. Focus on God; praise and trust Him; and He can give you peace in your heart. Give your troubles to Jesus Christ. Ask forgiveness for any sins you have committed. Ask God to lead you and guide you and show you how He wants you to live.

You do not need to be afraid. Some day as Christians we will live with God for all eternity. Now, here on earth, let us serve Christ and ask God to use us to help change the world for Him. For Jesus said “I am with you always, even to the end of the earth.” You can trust in God.

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Give us courage to face our problems with His grace and power
• Fill us with His Holy Spirit and teach us to rely on Him
• Protect the staff and volunteers at Global Media Outreachh

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE AFRAID ANY MORE! God will protect you with His presence. Trust in Him and, even in the midst of problems, God will be with you.

I am the way and the truth and the life

“In reply Jesus declared, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.’ " John 3:3

Truth and Love Jesus said “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus is the truth. What is truth? It is what is real, and actual, and good. God alone is always true. He can never tell a lie.

Too often in our lives we believe a lie. We say “I can never be forgiven. No one loves me. There is no hope for me.” But God always loves you. He is the truth and you can trust totally in Him.

And coupled with God’s truth is His love. God loves you unconditionally. He loves you so much He gave His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for you. And when Jesus says “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” -- He is telling the truth. God loves you and He will never leave you or forsake you.

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Help us always tell the truth in His love
• Protect and care for our staff and volunteers at Global Media Outreach
• Spread His truth and love throughout the whole earth

Thanksgiving

"Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.". Psalm 100:4, 5

Give thanks to God. In the United States, there is a holiday in November called Thanksgiving. It is a day to give thanks for the many blessings we have received.

For the Christian, every day should be Thanksgiving. We can give thanks to God every day for His many blessings to us.

What are some of the things we can thank God for?

• For the gift of His Son Jesus Christ
• For forgiveness for our sins
• For the gift of eternal life in Jesus
• For our health
• For family and friends
• For food to eat

So, this week, let us pray and

• Thank God for His many blessings
• Tell God how much you love Him
• Ask God for His protection over your family and over our staff and volunteers

You can Trust God

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5, 6

You can trust God. What does it mean to trust God?

Picture yourself as a little child. You are getting ready to cross a small bridge over a stream. You could be scared, as you look down into the stream.

What do you do? You look up at your father your daddy who is standing big and tall and strong beside you, and you put up your hand and take his hand. And now, you are not afraid and you can walk across the bridge safe and secure.

It is much the same way with God. There are many streams in life; and many storms; and many dangers and temptations. But God our heavenly Father stands with us when we ask Him to and we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. You can put up your hand to God, not physically but spiritually, and He will take your hand and keep you safe. You can trust in God and believe in Him and in His goodness to you.

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Help us to trust Him more
• Provide for all of us- you and each of us- finances and safety and peace
• Help us at Global Media Outreach to reach the whole world with the message of Christ’s love

What is forgiveness?

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

We can be forgiven by God through faith in Jesus Christ!

What is forgiveness? The word means “to release”. It is as if you held something in your hand and then you drop it. Let’s say someone owes you money. You hold in your hand the note that says they owe you money; and then you release it, you let it go.

God describes it like something being washed clean. “Though your sins are as scarlet (red), they will be as white as snow.” Each of us is guilty of doing and thinking things that are wrong, and we deserve death and full punishment for them. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, our sins are forgiven; we are “washed clean” in God’s sight. We are free; we are free indeed.

So this week, let us pray and

• If you haven’t already, ask Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior!
• Ask God to help us forgive others who may have wronged us
• Ask God to give us wisdom and protection at Global Media Outreach

How can I have peace with God?

(Jesus speaking). "I have told you these thing, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

How can I have peace with God? The wonderful news is that God loves you so much He sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth for us. Jesus died on the cross so that when we believe in Him as our Lord and Savior we could become God's children.

You can have peace with God through Jesus Christ. God loves you and cares for you. Just like a mother or father cares for their children, God cares for you. You can ask God to help you with your troubles and He can give you His peace in your heart.

So this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Help someone you love come to know Jesus Christ
• Help you have peace and joy in your heart
• Bless our volunteers and staff as we try to reach more people for Jesus Christ

God loves you!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” John 3:16, 17

God loves you! God loves you so much that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for you. If you were the only person on earth, God still loves you more than you can imagine.

Are you a parent? Do you have someone on earth that you love? Picture that love — and multiply it by a million — and you begin to have a picture of God’s love for you.

How should we respond to God’s love? We can accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, and we can be faithful to God. How can you be faithful to God? You can ask His help by His Holy Spirit to love God, and obey Him, and love others. God can help you live a godly life by the power of His Holy Spirit. So rejoice that God loves you and forgives you in Jesus Christ!

This week, let us pray that God will

• Help us to love and serve Him always
• Bless our families and those we love
• Cover and protect our staff and volunteers at Global Media Outreach

Spend time with God each day!

"I call out to You; save me and I will keep Your statutes. I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in Your word". Psalm 119:46 , 147.

Spend time with God each day! We have the amazing joy and privilege of spending time each and every day with the one true God who is the Lord of the entire universe.

Just think of this! The most powerful and loving and magnificent Being in all of existence loves you and wants to spend time with you.

This is an incredible privilege we have. If the leader of your country called and asked to meet with you at 8 in the morning, you would probably do everything you could to make that appointment. How much more should we enjoy the privilege of meeting with God?

So, each day, I suggest you try to set aside some time to meet with God. God is with you always and you can talk with Him throughout the day, but it is a great idea to set aside special time each day when you can pray, read the Bible, and focus on God. Just take some time to be quiet before God and ask Him to speak to your heart. God loves you and He wants to spend time with you.

This week, let us pray and ask God to:

• Help us spend time each day talking with Him
• Give us His love and compassion for someone in need around us
• Fill and control our staff and volunteers with His Holy Spirit each and every day

Church is much more that a building

(Describing the church just after Jesus rose into heaven): “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42;47

Church is very important. What is church? Often we talk about church as a building where we go to worship God on Sundays.

But church is much more than a building. The real meaning of church is all true believers in Jesus Christ. So the worldwide church is hundreds of millions of people all of whom have accepted Jesus Christ as their savior.

The local church is groups of Christians gathered together. In much of the world this happens in a church building and there is a pastor who cares for the group of Christians. In some parts of the world, it is not possible to gather together like this.

Wherever you are, God did not intend for you to have to live the Christian life all by yourself. God can use other Christians in church to strengthen you; to encourage you; to teach you; and to comfort you. And you can be used of God in your local church to help and to minister to others. If you possibly can, I encourage you to get highly involved in a good local Christian church.

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Help you find a great church to be involved in
• Help you to meet other Christians in your local area who can be used by God to encourage you
• Protect our staff and volunteers at Global Media Outreach

The Holy Spirit Is The Power Of God In Our Lives

"...When He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come." (John 16:13)

The Holy Spirit is God.

When Jesus Christ was on this earth, He told His followers, "...You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Earlier He had said to them, "It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you." The Holy Spirit is the power of God in our lives.

When we sincerely ask Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit comes and lives in our lives. You can ask God's power, through the Holy Spirit, to flow through your life. You do not have to try to live the Christian life in your own strength and power. It is like trying to row a boat a long ways; it is much better if the boat has an engine to turn on the engine. God's power is much greater than your own.

So do you want to stop a bad habit? Are you tired of getting angry all the time? Do you want to be kind and loving to someone you have a bad relationship with? Then ask forgiveness for your sins in Jesus' name, and ask God through His Holy Spirit to fill you with His power to live a victorious Christian life. He will give you His power to change your life!

This week, let us pray and ask God to

• Fill us with His Holy Spirit and give us the power to overcome one of our key problems
• Protect our staff and volunteers at Global Media Outreach and help us all to be filled and controlled with His Holy Spirit every day
• Bless your families and neighbors and help them to see the love of Jesus Christ in you

Jesus Christ will come again to this earth!

“This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:14

Jesus Christ will come again to this earth! The first time Jesus came in bodily form, He came to Israel about 2,000 years ago to suffer and die on the cross for our sins.

The next time He comes, Jesus Christ will come as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will ride on a white horse and lead the armies of heaven. We do not know the day or the hour when Jesus will return; no one knows that except God Himself.

We do know that there are many prophecies in the Bible that tell of future events. Many of these have already been fulfilled; this is one of the many ways we know that the Bible is God’s Word. Other prophecies have yet to be fulfilled but will happen at the end of this age. When Christ returns, He will set up His kingdom on this earth and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

So whether Jesus returns soon or whether it is a thousand years from now, let us be ready! Let us do each day the things that God asks us to do, and let us be ready someday to welcome Jesus Christ as OUR King of Kings and Savior and Lord of Lords.

• To help us be ready to someday welcome Jesus Christ back to this earth

Have Faith In God

(Jesus teaching). "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear...". Matthew 6:25

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world for all who truly receive Him. He also is the world's greatest teacher. When He was on earth 2,000 years ago, He taught us many things.

Here are just a few of Jesus' teachings. He taught us to love even our enemies. Jesus said "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you...". He taught us to have faith. "Have faith in God."

He taught us of the greatness of God. "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.". He said, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."

Jesus taught many other things. You can read His teachings in the Bible in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

This week, let is pray that

• God will help us learn and obey the teachings of Jesus
• God will bless someone who has wronged us
• God will protect and preserve our ministry at Global Media Outreach

Christ in us, the Hope of Glory

(Jesus speaking) “If you love Me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counsellor to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth...He lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” John 14: 15-18

Jesus Christ said He would never leave us or forsake us. What does this mean?

When Jesus died on the cross and then rose from the dead, He spoke to his followers and told them He would never leave them and He would be with them always, even to the end of the world. A few weeks after He rose from the dead, Jesus rose into heaven where He now sits at the right hand of God His Father.

How can He be with us now? Jesus Christ is with us in that He lives spiritually in our hearts, in the hearts of all true believers in Jesus Christ. You cannot see Him because He is here spiritually. Some day we will see Jesus again when He returns to this earth or when we see Him in heaven. But right now, when you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, He comes to live in your heart.

So wherever you go, Jesus Christ is there. He loves you and He hears your prayers in His name. “Christ in us, the hope of glory.” We serve a living Savior and Lord who rose from the dead and now lives in us by the power of His wonderful Holy Spirit. Truly Jesus Christ is with us always, even to the end of the world.

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Help us realize every day that Jesus Christ is with us always
• Bless our loved ones with the knowledge of His love
• Protect and give wisdom to our staff and volunteers here at Global Media Outreach

You shall have no other gods before me

“I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 16:7, 8

There is only one true God who created the heavens and the earth and who rules the universe. God says to us in the Bible, “You shall have no other gods before me.”

What does this mean? It means we should worship the one and only true God as our supreme Lord and we should worship nothing else before God. No other god is more important than God. Money is not more important than God. Success is not more important than God.

You can have only one god and that should be the one true God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the maker of heaven and earth. Do not bow down to any idols. Do not let yourself think that anything on earth or in heaven is more important than God. God loves you and He wants to bless your life; He forgives all your sins in Jesus Christ when you accept Christ as your savior. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Help us worship Him and Him alone
• Help Global Media Outreach reach millions more people for Jesus Christ
• Protect and bless our staff and volunteers
