New Life In Jesus Christ

“In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.” John 1:4

New life in Jesus Christ! You too can have new life in Jesus Christ this Christmas season and throughout the New Year.

Just as Jesus came into a dark world and a dirty stable and yet the life of God shone light and newness...So can you too have Jesus Christ light up your life. Jesus did not come into a perfect world — and you and I are not perfect either. He did not come to live in a palace with many servants, but He came to the poor and He brought light into the world.

In the same way, when we ask Jesus Christ into our lives to be our Savior and Lord, He brings new life and light and hope and eternal life into our lives. Where there was darkness, now there is spiritual light. Where there was death, now there is eternal life. Where we were trapped in our sins, now we have forgiveness of sins because Jesus Christ died for our sins.

So really Christmas can be every day! When we have accepted Christ as our Savior, Jesus Himself comes to live spiritually in our lives and hearts. Jesus Christ is alive in us by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is alive today!

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Save millions of people all around the world
• Help each one of us grow stronger and stronger as Christians in Christ’s love by the power of the Holy Spirit
• Protect and keep safe and bless all our staff at Global Media Outreach

Peace On Earth, And Good Will To Men

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.’” Luke 2:8 11

Christmas can change your life! Just as Jesus Christ was born in a stable 2,000 years ago, so He can live in our hearts each and every day when we ask Him in.

The way Jesus was born was like this. When Mary His mother was ready to give birth, the Roman government said everyone had to travel to their home town to pay taxes, and so Mary and her husband Joseph had to travel to a town called Bethlehem in Israel. When they got there, there was no room for them in the inn, so they had to stay the night in a stable where animals slept.

While they were there in the stable, the time came for Mary to give birth, and she gave birth to her Son Jesus. Angels sang in the skies outside: “Peace on earth, and good will to men.” Shepherds who were out in the fields saw the angels and came and worshipped the new born child.

How amazing — the Son of God came not in a palace with beautiful clothes, but in humility in a stable where animals lived. God came to earth as a human being and lived among us. Truly Jesus Christ knows you and can understand your hurts and your pains — because He lived not a life of luxury, but lived as a common man among us. The King of Kings came to earth as a little baby.

So, this week, let us pray

• God will help each of us love one another and not be proud
• God will cause the message of the birth of Jesus Christ to spread around the whole world
• God will keep and protect our staff at Global Media Outreach and fill us with His love and joy

Growing as a Christian

Growing as a Christian. What does it mean to grow as a Christian? When you first accept Jesus Christ as your savior, you are like a little baby spiritually. You may be 60 years old — you may be 20 years old — but you may be like a little child as a Christian.

So how do you grow? We have identified 6 key areas you can grow as a Christian.

1. Know God — Be sure you are a Christian; know about God; know about Jesus Christ
2. New Life — Be filled with the Holy Spirit; have your life changed by Christ in you
3. Prayer — Talk with God daily; spend time with Him and worship Him
4. Bible — Learn and study God’s word; be changed by its transforming power
5. Community — Be a part of a good church; spend times connecting with other Christians
6. Share — Tell others about the good news of Jesus Christ; see others come to Jesus Christ

God will help you grow as a Christian, but you must take the first steps. Spend time with God; learn about Him; study His word; talk with Him; be filled with His Spirit; join a good church; tell others about Jesus. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. The Importance Of Church

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27

The importance of church. What is church? While most churches today have buildings, a church is more than just a building — it is the gathering together of true believers in Jesus Christ. In the first century, those who had accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior would gather together. Here is a description of the first Christians gathering together.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

Notice how many ways the early Christians met together. They met at the temple; they met in homes; they met to hear the apostles’ teaching. Today, in most parts of the world, you can gather with other Christians. Ask God to lead you to a good church if there is one near you, one where the Bible is preached as the Word of God and where the focus is on accepting Christ as your Savior. Perhaps in addition to church you can also gather with other Christians in a home or small group and receive teaching and encouragement to follow the Lord.

Remember, a church is more than just a building, it is true Christians gathered together. It is very important for your Christian growth that you seek to be part of a good church if at all possible.

So, this week, let us pray that

• God will lead you and other new Christians to great churches to be a part of
• God will help Christians all over the world to participate actively in their local churches
• God will encourage and fill with His Holy Spirit our staff and volunteers at Global Media Outreach

Give us this day our daily bread

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5, 6

God will provide for you! If you have truly accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, then you are God’s child. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. He will care for you and provide for your needs.

The Bible says “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!” This does not mean that God will make us all rich. However, God will give us each day what we need for that day. What is our part? It is to obey and serve God and to put Him first with our lives and our resources. Jesus taught “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Let us put God first and trust in Him and He will provide for our needs.

What are you concerned about? Put your trust in God. He loves you. God has not promised to give us all Mercedes or huge mansions; that is not His plan for everyone here on earth. God also wants us to be generous to His work and to those around us, and He will care for our needs. The Lord’s Prayer says “Give us this day our daily bread.” God is our source. He wants us to depend fully on Him. He loves us. We are to praise and worship Him. And He will provide for us.

So, this week, let us pray that

• God will bless you and your family and give you peace in the midst of the storms of life
• God will care for your loved ones and for the poor people in your community and around the world
• God will protect our staff at Global Media Outreach and fill us with His Holy Spirit

Persevere In Prayer

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened unto you.” Matthew 7:7

Persevere in prayer. What does it mean to persevere? It means to have faith — even when things don’t look like they are going well.

Abraham in the Bible was promised by God that he would have a son even in his old age. Yet it took years before God fulfilled the promise and Abraham had a son. Abraham was commended by God for having faith, but the answer to his prayer did not come right away.

Are you facing a trial or difficulty in your life? Have faith in God. God says you can come to Him with your prayers in Jesus name. But, when you come, ask in faith — and then have patience. God may bring the answer to your prayer right away or it might take some time. Sometimes, God answers in ways we don’t expect. The Bible says “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”

God is our heavenly Father. He loves you and me and He knows what is best. You can trust Him that He will bring to pass in your life what is best for you when we commit our lives to Jesus Christ. But you should have faith, and patience, and don’t give up. Keep believing God and He will bring great things to pass in your life.

So, this week, let us pray that

• God will help us have patience to believe Him for great things in faith
• God will help Global Media Outreach see 100 million people accept Jesus Christ as Savior
• God will protect our staff and fill and control us each day with His Holy Spirit

Faith

“I shall delight in your statutes; I shall not forget Your Word.” Psalm 119:16

Since faith is so important, how can we have more faith? In some ways faith is simple — it is choosing to believe in God and to trust Him. The Bible says “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”

The Bible is God’s Word to us. So if we read God’s Word with an attitude of belief it can help build our faith! “Your Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” God’s Word can help us have faith and live a Godly life. When we read the Bible we can learn about men and women of old who had great faith. We can learn more about God and His character.

We can find out how to live the Christian life. We can learn about how faithful God is and that He can always be trusted. If you memorize key scriptures, then God’s Word will be hid in your heart and you can draw great strength in times of temptation. So if you want to have great faith, then a wonderful place to start is ask God to help build your faith and begin studying His Word the Bible.

What is Faith?

’Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered... ‘I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.’ Mark 11:22, 24

What is faith? The Bible says “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen....Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone that comes to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”

Faith that saves you is believing in God and in His Son Jesus Christ and asking Christ into your life. The opposite of faith is unbelief — you choose not to believe in God.

True faith in God means you not only believe in God, but you also trust and obey Him. God is wonderful and loving and kind; how can we not trust our very lives to Him? He is worthy to receive our praise and adoration and love. If you trust someone, you do not doubt or question them but you believe that they are who they say they are. We can trust God as the creator of the universe and as our loving heavenly Father who sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for us.

If you are tempted to doubt, rebuke the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ. When Jesus was tempted, He resisted and He quoted scripture. You should study the Bible, the Word of God. The Bible says “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” So God’s Word the Bible in your heart can help you grow in faith.

So this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Give us strong faith so that we may always love and trust in Him
• Pour out His spirit and help us reach 1 million people a day with the gospel
• Bless financially all our partners
• Keep from evil and fill with His Holy Spirit all our Global Media Outreach staff

God is the source of our life

God is the source of our life. “In Him (Jesus) was life, and that life was the light of men.”

If you have asked Jesus Christ into your heart and life to be your Savior, then you have the life of Christ in your life. What does this mean? It means that God Himself, through the Holy Spirit in the person of Jesus Christ, now lives in you. God is the source of all good things — of life, of love, of peace, of joy, of happiness. You can ask Christ to live His life through you -- “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

God gave life to plants and all living things. He fills the earth with beauty and with trees, and birds, and flowers and animals. He gave life to mankind and He is the source of our life. But best of all, in Jesus Christ we have the promise of eternal life — of living forever as God’s children in Heaven with Jesus Christ. When we accept Christ as Savior, we are born again spiritually — we have new life. And when our bodies die, we will go to heaven to be with God forever. This is not because of our own good deeds — it is because our sins are forgiven and we have asked Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior.

So, this week, let us pray and

• Thank God that He is our life and the source of our life.
• Ask God to help millions of people find Christ and the gift of eternal life through our websites
• Ask God to raise up many churches to join with us to help follow up new believers
• Ask God to protect and provide for Global Media Outreach and our staff team

Jesus is Lord

Jesus is Lord! The Bible says that our Lord Jesus Christ is “the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.”

What does this mean? A Lord is someone who is in charge; who runs things; who has authority. In past days someone might be called the lord in his business if he is in charge. So to be called the “Lord of lords” means you are in supreme authority; over all other lords; the master of everything.

Jesus Christ is truly the Lord of lords. He is our master. He has all wisdom and all authority. The Bible tells the story of a man who went on a long journey and when he was away he entrusted his estate to others. He was gone, but he was still the master of the estate. When he returned, he once again took charge, because the estate was still his even when he was gone.

So, too, Jesus Christ has gone into heaven; but He is still Lord. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. The wonderful news is that our Lord Jesus Christ not only is all powerful, He is also loving and kind and good and forgiving. So while we are here on this earth we have the privilege of bowing the knee to our Lord Jesus. We should serve Him and obey Christ and make Him the Lord of every area of our lives.

So, this week, let us pray and

• Ask Jesus Christ to be the Lord of every part of our lives
• Ask God to help all your family and loved ones accept Jesus Christ as Savior
• Ask Christ to establish His Lordship over the entire earth -- “May Your Kingdom come”
• Ask God to protect and bless the donors and staff and volunteers of Global Media Outreach

Jesus is our Savior

Jesus is our Savior!!! What does this mean? It means that without Jesus Christ we will receive what we deserve for our sin -- eternal punishment and separation from God. We have rebelled against the God of the universe in our thoughts, our words, and our actions.

But the good news -- the wonderful news -- is that God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to this earth to be born as a man -- and to suffer and to die for our sins. Jesus Christ, who did not commit any sins, took on Himself the punishment that was due for us. He willingly chose to go to the cross -- to suffer an agonizing death as a criminal -- so that we might go free.

All we need to do is to accept this free gift. No one can force you to take a gift. But God, who is rich in mercy, offers us the gift of forgiveness of sins... of becoming a child of God... of having eternal life in heaven with God. Who would not accept such a wonderful gift of God's love?

Jesus Christ said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by Me.”

Jesus Christ said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by Me.” The Bible says God is the God of truth.

God is truth. What is truth? For something to be true it is real, and authentic, and actual. There is no falseness in God. If God says something will happen, it will happen. If God says it is wrong to lie, it is wrong to lie. God is the very definition of truth.

What did the devil try to say to Eve in the garden of Eden? The devil tried to convince Eve that God was not telling the truth. But God always does tell the truth because He is truth itself.

What are some lies that the world may tell you? The world may tell you that it is OK to lie; that it is best if you steal; that you will be happy forever if you just have enough money; that you should not be faithful to your wife or husband. But these are all lies. It is the way of God that is true. When you follow the truth of God you will find joy, and happiness, and peace. You should tell the truth because it is right and when you tell the truth you are following God; the Bible says “I, the Lord, speak the truth; I declare what is right.”

So, this week, let us pray that

• We will worship and praise our Lord, the God of truth and mercy
• God will help us always to tell the truth
• God will bless financially the people who have made faith promises to help reach people for Christ through Global Media Outreach
• God will bless and protect our staff team at Global Media Outreach

It is good for us to know that God’s ways are truth and they are always good. So resist the lies of the world and ask God to help you always follow His truth and speak the truth in love.

God is the Creator of the whole universe

What does this mean? It means that before there was anything else that existed, there was God. God was in the beginning. And all the way in the beginning of time, God existed as three persons God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. “In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Before God began His creative work, there was nothing. Then God spoke, and the universe came into existence as we now know it. God said “Let there be light”, and there was light.

How can we begin to understand such a great God? His power is infinite and far above our understanding. We have limited power; God has unlimited power. We live on this earth but a short time; God has existed for all eternity. We speak only one, or maybe a very few, languages. God has all knowledge. We may create a few things, and even then we largely use other things that already exist to create them. Our wonderful God created the world and everything in it.

Bill Bright, the late founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, wrote in his book God Discover His Character, “When we truly see God as He really is, our lives will be changed forever.” Let us seek to know God as our Creator and our Lord.

So, this week. Let us pray and ask God

• To help us know Him as He truly is
• To help us honor God as our Creator
• To save our loved ones who do not know Him
• To protect our staff at Global Media Outreach

How great is the love of God! God is infinite, yet He loves us we who are tiny creatures on the planet earth. Yet we are so important to God that He gave His Son Jesus Christ for us and He loves us each and every day.

God loves you

God loves you! What does it mean to say God loves you? In our day the word “love” can mean many things — romantic feelings, food you like, your feelings for your pet.

But when the Bible says “God is love”, it means:

• God loves you so much He sent His Son to die for you
• God loves you from the beginning of the world
• God loves you and wants the very best for your life
• God loves you even though He knows every area where you have failed Him
• God loves you even when you have turned your back on Him
• God loves you and knows your good points and your strengths and how much good you can do
• God loves you and wants to spend eternity in heaven with you
• God loves you and wants to spend time with you here on earth
• God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life

God is so wonderful! I encourage you to accept His great gift of love. You are loved by God — the Lord of the universe, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. How great is His love for you!

What does it mean to give praise to the Lord?

Praise the Lord! What does it mean to give praise to the Lord? It means to praise God for who He is and for what He does.

We can praise God for He is the creator of the universe. He is good, and loving, and kind. His very nature is love. He is all powerful and He rules over all the universe. He is just and fair in all His dealings. You can praise God for who He is each and every day.

We can also praise God for what He has done in our lives. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. God forgives our sins when we accept Christ as our Savior. He provides food for us and blesses us with His love. Every good blessing in your life comes directly or indirectly from God’s hand. He has given us the promise of heaven — of eternal life — when we ask Christ to be our Savior. Truly God is good and we can praise Him every day for what He is doing in our lives.

The Bible says to “enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.” We are to praise the Lord at all times. Sometimes life may seem dark, and your problems may be very great. Yet even in the midst of difficult times, we can praise God for who He is — and for the gift of Jesus Christ — and for the good things He has provided for us — and for the promise of heaven.

So, this week, let us pray and

• Thank God for all His goodness to us
• Praise God for sending His Son Jesus Christ to die for us
• Thank God for His blessing on the staff and ministry of Global Media Outreach

You can be forgiven. How can you be forgiven?

You can be forgiven. How can you be forgiven? When you ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come into your heart as your Lord and Savior.

What does it mean to be forgiven? Being forgiven is the most wonderful gift in the world. Here are some ways to think of being forgiven:

• God washes us clean
• Our sins are washed away
• God places our sins as far from us as the east is from the west
• We deserve to be judged but Jesus paid our judgment for us
• It is as if we owed a great sum of money and God paid our debt for us
• We are free!!!
• We are freed from the punishment of hell
• Our eternal destiny is now heaven because we are now God’s children

It is important that, once we have accepted Christ, we ask God to help us walk in His light and to stay away from sin. The great news is that, if we do sin, we can confess our sins and God will cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God made Him — Jesus — who had never sinned, to take the punishment for us so that we could go free. How wonderful is the love of God! So let us walk in the freedom and forgiveness and cleansing of Jesus Christ.

• God to forgive any sins we have committed
• All our staff at Global Media Outreach to be filled with God’s Spirit and walk in His victory
• God to help us reach even more people with the wonderful message of His love and forgiveness

What do you do when you sin?

What do you do when you sin? Sin is choosing to do, or say, or think something that is bad. Even as a Christian, once you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior, unfortunately you may still sin. It is sad; we wish we could be perfect; but sometimes you may do something that is wrong.

What do you do then? It is as simple as A B C.

A: Ask God to forgive you. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” You are still God’s child if you have truly accepted Christ as your Savior. Christ died to pay the penalty for your sins.

B: Believe God has forgiven you. We are saved by faith; we accept God’s promises by faith. Thank God that He has forgiven your sins because of Jesus.

C: Change your behavior. To repent means to change direction. If you have bad thoughts when you look at bad pictures, then stop looking at those pictures. You can ask God to help you; He does not ask us to live the Christian life on our own, but He gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to live in our lives to overcome sin.

Dr. Bill Bright, the late founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, described the process of spiritual breathing. If we sin, we breathe out the bad air — we confess our sins to God. Then we breathe in the good air — God’s love and forgiveness and the power of the Holy Spirit.

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to

• Help each of us to overcome sin in our lives
• Help each of us on Global Media staff to walk in God’s overcoming power in our lives
• Bring millions of people to know Jesus Christ as Savior

THANK YOU for your prayers. We are seeing many people come to Christ because of God’s moving — and much of this is in response to your prayers. Let us believe God together to see Him do great and mighty things in the world. Someday we will meet in heaven and rejoice to see all that God has done.

Who is Jesus Christ?

Who is Jesus Christ? It is impossible to describe in just one word the most marvelous person who has ever walked on this earth.

Here are some true descriptions about Jesus Christ. Maybe you can think of each of these as you worship God this week.

Jesus Christ is

• God
• The Son of God
• Our Savior
• The only man who lived truly without sin
• The King of Kings and Lord of Lords
• The one who died to pay the penalty for our sins
• Our Lord

Each of these only just begins to describe Jesus. How wonderful is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Each day, I encourage you to talk with Jesus Christ and to learn more about Him from the Bible. In the four gospels in the Bible (the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) you can learn from His early disciples more about Jesus Christ.

So this week, let us pray that

• Everyone in the whole world will hear about Jesus Christ and His great love for them
• God will bless our staff at Global Media Outreach with His peace and joy and fill us with His Holy Spirit
• We can reach even more people for Jesus Christ

Who is the Holy Spirit?

You can be filled with God’s Holy Spirit!

Who is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is God here on earth. When Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead, He then went into heaven to be with God His Father. He said to His disciples that He would not leave them alone, but would send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to be with them.

He said the Holy spirit would guide us into all the truth. The amazing thing is that all of us as people have sinned and done things that are wrong. Yet God sends His Holy Spirit not just to help us, but to live in our hearts and lives! How great is God’s love that He would offer us His great forgiveness for all our sins in Jesus Christ. But God does not stop there He then gives us the gift of Himself, the Holy Spirit of God, to live in our lives as Christians and help us live the Christian life.

The Bible says the fruits of the Holy Spirit in our lives will be love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. Wouldn’t you like your life to be filled with God’s Holy Spirit?

You can ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit each and every day if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Ask God to forgive your sins in Jesus name and ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit.

So this week, let us pray that

• God will fill us with His Holy Spirit each and every day
• God will protect and bless the staff at Global Media Outreach
• God will help us reach millions of people for Jesus Christ and will bless your family
