Who Should I Marry?

2 Corinthians 6:14 …… Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
If you are a born again, Holy Spirit filled believer in Jesus Christ who wants to get married, be encouraged, God is preparing a partner for you.
The will of God is for Christians to be married. The bible says that it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18). He wants mankind to reproduce and multiply (Genesis 9:7).
“Praise God!” I hear all the singles say, but how do we find our partner?
Firstly, we need to go to the right places, where Christians go, and avoid the wrong places where Christians should not go.
In other words, to find a Christian husband or wife, do not go where the heathens go.
Secondly, we do not need to become obsessed with finding our potential partner. Once we have made our prayer requests to the Lord we should relax and allow God to answer our prayer. He will make it clear to us when we encounter our future marriage partner. Our part is to remain in the light, outworking the will of God in our life and at the appropriate time, our paths will cross, our hearts will skip a beat and God will affirm by His word and by His Spirit when Mr or Mrs Right has come along.
In the meantime, take a big breath, slowly exhale and get on with enjoying your life. Do not be focussed on finding your spouse, be focussed on Jesus.
God is preparing you for the right person and, at the same time, He is preparing the right person for you. Trust in the Lord to bring you both together, orchestrating all the details of your lives so that your paths will converge at the right time in the right place.
Allow Jesus to walk with you on your journey of courtship, leading you both into the fullness of your destiny in Him.
Lord Jesus, thank you for being in control of my life. Amen.
