Fear God, Not Man

When we fear men we are in danger of becoming slaves.

We tailor our actions to please those we fear and we are snared or trapped into a cycle that is hard to back away from. The Bible warns that the fear of men is a snare, but trusting in God brings us safety (Proverbs 29:25). The Bible also tells us to be obedient to the king and those who rule over us (Romans 13:1-2). Wisdom is the way in which we walk in a world ruled by Satan and yet love and respect our heavenly Father.
God does not take us out of this world. He expects us to be a light to the world. Humans can take our lives, but only God can erase us from the eternal Book of Life. That is what we need to fear compared to those who can only take our lives. We obey the one we fear and we try to please Him. When we choose to obey God, the floodgates of His love open to us, and blessings are showered upon us. There is no comparison. Fear God. The rewards are endless.
