The Old Has Gone, The New Has Come

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

Let this be a year of new beginnings in Jesus Christ! One of the wonderful things about being a Christian is that it gives us the ability to ask God's forgiveness and receive in Jesus Christ a clean slate. Do you have sins of the past? Do you have worries? Do you have doubts and fears?

You can ask God's forgiveness and know that Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for your sins. God says in the Bible "Behold, I make everything new." This applies to the future, but starting right now God can renew your life and heart and mind in Jesus Christ.

What are your goals for this new year? Maybe it can be to please God more...to give yourself even more whole-heartedly to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord...to be more kind and loving to others...to be generous and ready to share Christ's love with those around you. Maybe you are struggling with a difficult relationship. God has not promised He would remove all our hardships, but if we pray in faith often He will solve the problem; in other cases He may give us His grace and patience and love to see the problem from a different perspective.

Whatever your situation in this new year, know that God loves you and He has a wonderful plan for your life in 2010. Ask Him what His plans are; seek His will; and trust Him to lead you and guide you. This can be a wonderful year in Jesus Christ our Lord.
